Team Cherry has confirmed Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on September 4, 2025, ending six years of anticipation. The sequel arrives on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms.

Development stretched seven years as the project evolved from planned DLC to a full standalone title. "We had to stop ourselves from endless expansion," admitted developers William Pellen and Ari Gibson. The final two years focused exclusively on polish and detail refinement.
